About Lisa Karasick

Psychologist, RPsych, MSc, BA, HMICP

Experience
Having provided comprehensive psycho-educational and neurodevelopmental assessments, clinical evaluations, and psychotherapy in both non-profit and private practice, I have gained considerable experience in a range of environments for a variety of clientele. This range of generalized practice has enabled me to focus and gain further expertise in areas of interest to me which include providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults experiencing mood, personality, impulse control and trauma-related disorders, chronic pain management, as well as adverse life events and everyday stress management and coping.

Approach
My graduate education focused heavily on both the research and practical side of therapy embedding the importance of working from a scholar-practitioner model which I have continued to utilize in my practice. Although I primarily work from a cognitive behavioral approach, I ensure I tailor my assessment, treatment planning, and implementation to the client’s unique needs and personality. A dedication to comprehensive care and evidence-based treatment is central to my practice as building a strong therapeutic alliance and using a client-centered, evidence-based approach is integral to positive and long-term progress.
I know it can be difficult to reach out for therapy. Most people find the first contact to be the hardest part, and are surprised to find how comfortable they become almost immediately. Please contact me to learn more about how I can help you achieve lasting recovery, growth, and progress.
