About

Lisa Karasick, R.Psych, MSc, BA

Registered Psychologist

I’m a registered psychologist with experience across both non-profit and private practice settings. Over the course of my career I’ve provided psychoeducational and neurodevelopmental assessments, clinical evaluations and psychotherapy to a diverse range of clients — from teenagers navigating some of the most formative years of their lives to adults managing complex, longstanding challenges.

My work has allowed me to develop deep expertise in supporting adolescents and adults facing mood disorders, trauma, chronic pain, impulse control difficulties, personality disorders and the everyday challenges of stress and life transitions.

"I believe that warmth, humour and genuine human connection are just as important as clinical expertise. You don't have to leave yourself at the door when you walk into therapy — and neither do I."

My graduate training emphasized both the research and applied dimensions of psychology, grounding me in a scholar-practitioner model that continues to shape my work. I believe that staying current with research isn’t optional — it’s what good care requires.

While I primarily draw from cognitive behavioural therapy and biofeedback, I tailor every assessment, treatment plan and intervention to fit the unique needs and personality of the individual sitting across from me. A commitment to comprehensive, evidence-based care is central to my practice — where building a strong therapeutic alliance and working collaboratively with clients is key to meaningful and lasting progress.

"I know it can be difficult to reach out for therapy. For many people, that first contact is the hardest part—but they’re often surprised by how quickly they begin to feel comfortable."
